How I rate books!

- a one star rating is a pretty rare thing., for me. I'm usually more generous than that. For this to happen, the book usually needs to be severely problematic or otherwise disturbing. It could also be because I didn't connect with this book at and and/or was very bored with it. I very rarely rate books one star. (note: a rating of 1.5 stars usually means the reason I didn't like the book wasn't because it was problematic, whereas a 1 star rating usually means actual problems with it.)

- a two star rating usually means the book is "bad"/has some problematic elements but it might also mean I didn't connect with the story and/or was bored, but less so than when it comes to one star books. Usually a two star rating means I was at least partly interested in the book.

- a three star rating is usually translated as "it's okay". That means that yeah, maybe the book was rubbing me the wrong way a little bit but not enough so for me to rate it lower. Three stars quite ofter also equals a good but pretty forgetable book.

★½
- a three point five star rating usually means "good". Like, yeah, it was enjoyable but not enough for me to give it four stars. At this 'level' I rarely have any major problems with a book. Note: this is typically a book I enjoy and would recommend to others.

- a four star rating means I really enjoyed the book and that it was very good. At this level I don't have any problems with the book but usually there's just a tiny something lacking for me to give it five stars.

- five stars is as good as it gets. This means perfection! I don't give five stars too too often.
